Places to Eat
Places to Eat in San Diego just to name a few – there are sooooo many good places to dine …
Siam Nara
Pigging out with kevan at Siam Nara Thai Cuisine in Mira mesa … the three flavored whole fish with tamarind sauce is one of my favorites, and I always ask for extra sauce😋

Javier’s in La Jolla
Great food, great company! Phil and I both enjoyed the high calorie trio seafood enchiladas while Phyllis and Kevan shared a low cal salad!!! ❤️

Sushi Ota in Pacific Beach
Lunch with my favorite girl at Sushi Ota… it was so good!!! A reservation is recommended as this is a famous sushi place in San Diego, it gets very crowded during lunch and dinner times and parking is a bit difficult to find.

Kogi Steak House in Kearny Mesa
The cheese corn dish is one of my favorite sides. The meat here is very fresh and of high quality and their kimchi is ichiban 👌🏻.

Brockton villa in old La Jolla
Brunch at Brockton Villa at La Jolla cove. They serve the best french toast and bacon in town😋. Their dinner menu is also very good with good ambience. I love to go on a date with hubby for dinner, enjoying good food and sunset as the restaurant overlooks the cove.

Duke’s in La Jolla
Today’s lunch was awesome I had a delicious crab and shrimp salad at Duke’s La Jolla .

Tom Ham’s Lighthouse
Dinner at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse on Harbor Island in San Diego Bay…views are great, food is…okay!

Top of the Market
Dinner date with Kevan at Top of the Market in San Diego down at San Diego harbor, good value and nice view right on the water

The Chart house in Salona Beach
We love this restaurant, great service and great food. It is a high end restaurant and sometimes food may take a little longer to arrive. It is usually very busy and making a reservation ahead of time is recommended.

Sab-Ee-Lee
Great Thai food restaurant, There are 2 locations, one at Linda Vista (the original one) and one at Black Mountain Road I. Ranch Penosquitos. The food is very authentic, more Laotian flavor. Service is hit or miss. The older waitress can be very blunt and a bit rude but some are very nice and friendly. Be careful when you order takeout, they may ask if tips should be added to your bill, it’ll be up to your own preference to handle this 😊.

Din Tai Fung
This restaurant originated in Taiwan and is famous for their soup dumplings. The shrimp fried rice, spicy noodles and pork ribs are among my favorites. I have been to this restaurant many times and have ordered many different dishes, and all of them are delicious. Reservations needed to be made ahead of time as it’s a very popular place. But sometimes you can try your luck and maybe seated at the bar if there are availability for those who decide to walk in.

Kiln

Chicken Pie Shop
The chicken pie shop in El Cajon, eastern San Diego, has been around forever, but since it is further east, a lot of tourists don’t get that far away from the coast, but it’s definitely worth the trip. Even worth it to buy some of their frozen pies and take home in your cooler to heat up later. Best chicken pies around!

Ipoh Kopitiam – in Monterey
This restaurant is in Monterey, about 2 hours away from San Diego. This restaurant offers very authentic Malaysian food, very delicious indeed!

The Marine Room in La Jolla
This is an amazing restaurant for special occasions. Their lobster bisque is one of my favorites. In the Fall during high tides season, water from the ocean splashes on the window giving you a sense of dining in a big boat.
Donavan
This is another steakhouse located in La Jolla downtown. Food is very good but pricey and it is always crowded. Making a reservation ahead of time is necessary. There are limited parking space at this restaurant but vallet service is available.
Urban Plates
This restaurant serves quick but delicious meals such as soup and salad, sandwiches, and some pasta dishes. My favorite at this restaurant is their mango tart, the best one I’ve ever tasted❤️

Extraordinary Desserts
There are 2 locations within a few miles of the other in downtown San Diego, one closer to the airport. They serve various types of desserts decorated with flowers. My favorite is the passion fruit cake.

Coronado
Coronado island is one of the most beautiful places in San Diego. Across the bridge from San Diego, Coronado hosts a naval station and also boasts one of the oldest hotels in the area, hotel, Del Coronado, which is an amazing place to visit, and if you could stay there, even better. There are great parks and places for the kids to play, wonderful beaches, Nice places to shop, awesome food, lots to do in Coronado. And if you are ultra wealthy, the stratospheric real estate prices won’t scare you off. For the rest of us, it’s a half day visit.

Seaport village
Seaport Village is another place to definitely not miss. Lots of fun as you stroll around and see where you can spend your money on different tourist knickknacks. There are also good restaurants around there where you can enjoy some wonderful seafood. And don’t miss the tour of the aircraft carrier that is birthed in Port at the San Diego harbor right next to Seaport Village, that’s a wonderful place to visit. Enjoy!

Sea World
It’s a great opportunity for the entire family to experience the wonder and majesty of sea life in all its various forms, from dolphins to sea lions to seals to killer whales. They even have a comedy show including dogs and other animals, it was amazing and fun. Don’t miss this on your next trip to San Diego!
Wild Animal Park
About 30 to 40 minutes north of San Diego, close to Escondido, is the San Diego wild animal park. Here you will find a replica of an African safari, just like you would see on the plains of the Serengeti, OK, not exactly, maybe a mini replica. But interesting. Nonetheless, you will drive out onto the planes Where you can see the lions and giraffes at wildebeest at zebra and other majestic animals. They even have rhinos and elephants. Watch out for the rhino pool, it is immense and colossal. Enjoy your visit! If you’re interested in an overnight visit, call ahead and see how you can make arrangements to camp on the planes, next to the animals. Tireless safe, I am assured.

Legoland

Our favorite theme park when the kids were young. Close to home, reasonably priced, great rides, and awesome burgers!
Old Town San Dingo
Old town San Diego is really the birthplace of California as it was the first permanent Spanish settlement in California after the Spanish arrived. In 1769 father Junipero, Sarah established here which eventually included a number of other missions throughout California. Old town San Diego became a small but thriving community And by the mid 1800s at attain the status of El Pueblo to San Diego it is a wonderful place with lots of historical buildings and great places to eat, the Mormon, battalion monument and museum is also here, don’t miss that.
