A quick visit …
Day 1
It’s only 4:30am Monday morning and we’ve been awake for a couple of hours…😐. It’s already so bright outside and it doesn’t get dark until after 9pm in this part of the world. Trivia : the glass windows at this hotel are so clean that there are no spots in the pictures – perhaps the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in❤️

Gamla Stan, Stockholms Län, Sweden
Roaming the old town in Stockholm…
Stortorget or the Grand Square which is the oldest square in Stockholm, the well and the stock exchange building which houses the Nobel Museum… , the narrow alleys and streets, and my favorite place in the last picture❤️. @ Gamla Stan, Stockholms Län, Sweden

The Royal Palace Stockholm

I’m convinced that I’m bad with google maps! Kevan had to work and I went alone to explore Gamla Stan trying to locate the Royal Palace. It took me close to an hour to walk there when the map showed only 15 mins from the hotel. At one point I walked an entire circle and back to the same spot, kinda like an enchanted maze! The Royal Palace was reconstructed circa 1728-1779 due to a fire which destroyed the original palace. It is huge but only a very small part is open to the public. There were several stories about the haunted ghosts in the palace which appeared when a member of the royal family was about to die, and these stories intensify the spookiness of the palace😖 @ The Royal Palace Stockholm

View from Stockholm Palace… many people like to sit on benches along the lake to enjoy the scenery ❤️. I love Stockholm!!!

Day 2
We had a late start today! Church was at 11, a great little meeting house in Hagerstown. Then we explored the Gamla Stan ( the Old Town) but did not get too far as we found a good dining place for dinner – Carpe Dien Restaurant. @ Gamla Stan, Stockholms Län, Sweden

The Parliament House is equally attractive from the front entrance as from the back of the building.

The lone building on an island we passed may be the smallest island in Stockholm…🤔.

Carpe Dien Restaurant
They served an A+ Creme Brûlée, comparable to my favorite one on the outskirts of France.

Exploring the beautiful city of Stockholm … Stockholm is comprised of 14 small islands in Lake Mälaren which flows out to the Baltic Sea and is connected by 50 bridges. I love this beautiful city❤️ @ Stockholm, Sweden
